Thundercats

For many the mention of the word “retro” conjures up memories of the 80’s. Memories of buying Michael Jackson’s Thriller on tape, watching Rocky IV on VHS or playing Mario on Nintendo. Of course who can forget the great 80’s cartoon heroes? Arguably, the greatest cartoon heroes of all time were created and produced in the 80’s! Such as He-Man, G.I. Joe Transformers and Thundercats!

In honor of these great cartoon heroes, 80’s Tees offers up some cool cartoon t-shirts!

Check out the video below! Do you remember these cartoons?

karatekid

Karate Kid is the ultimate underdog teen movie and 80’s martial arts classic! Seriously, who can forget Daniel LaRusso vs. Johnny Lawrence of Cobra Kai at the All Valley Karate Championship? Ok, granted the fight scenes were bit cheesy but you can’t even say the word “dojo” without thinking about the Karate Kid.

How about the crazy villain, Sensei John Kreese, who encourages his students to bully weak kids? This guy was supposedly an ex-Special Forces Vietnam Veteran. Who knows what happened in Nam that made him such a vicious nut ball!

For those that haven’t seen the movie yet you should definitely watch it. If anything to see a young and cute Elizabeth Shue! Geez, she was hot back in the day!

I’m getting side-tracked now! Anyway, check out the 5 awesome Karate Kid t-shirts below!

tournament

“Get him a body bag, yeah!”

sweep

“Sweep the leg!”

bow

“Bow to your Sensei!”

cobra

“Strike fast, strike hard, now mercy!”

miyagi

“Wax on, wax off.”

Of course this post wouldn’t be complete without a Karate Kid video clip! In the video Ralph Macchio looks like a scared ferret on crack…

Ok, here is an extra t-shirt for the hard core Karate Kid fan; 80’s Tees offers the “Referee” t-shirt, which can be seen in the video above.

referee

The front side of the t-shirt simply says “Referee”. If wearing a referee t-shirt from the Karate Kid movie isn’t funny then I don’t know what is!

boat

Before the Lonely Island was singing “I’m On A Boat“, the infamous entertainment company, Prestige Worldwide, was singing about Boats and Hoes!

For those that don’t know, Prestige Worldwide was the group or company created by Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly in the movie Step Brothers.  The movie didn’t receive great reviews and it isn’t nearly as popular as other Will Ferrell movies, but it is definitely worth watching!

There are many funny parts in the movie! One of the best scenes involves the showing of the “Boats and Hoes” video! If you haven’t seen the movie or video be sure to watch the clip below.

“Im a p**** pirate my name is Jack Sparrow take of my pants so you can see a flesh arrow”

tshirtspotting

elvis4

This is the Asian Rounder and this is my first post. I’m starting a new thread called T-shirtspotting that will feature random t- shirts I’ve seen or bought around the world.

The above t-shirt was purchased in Bangkok, Thailand at the Monkey See shop which is located at Central World. I’ve done some searches online in both Thai and English however I have not been able to locate a website.

It’s unfortunate the don’t have an online presence because they offer up some pretty cool designs. I asked the clerk at the store, and they are a Thai owned t-shirt company that supposedly has around 5 stores in Thailand.

The featured shirt was one of many t-shirts I purchased. I loved the combination of Jesus, Elvis with a playing card. The splash paint in white was  printed with a special raised fuzzy ink. Overall pretty cool t-shirt! Plus, I think I only paid about 500 baht or around $14 US dollars.

If you are ever in Bangkok, be sure to stop by a Monkey See shop and check out their cool designs!
